Feed to feed the streets
You asked for it, so here it is. Feed page is now live. Additional changes include:
New
- Home is now the feed: posts, reviews and lists from everyone, sorted by Latest, Top, Discussed or Oldest. New posts wait behind a "new" button instead of pushing the page down while you read.
- Write a post straight from the top of Home.
- Repost or quote any post, review, list or comment.
- GIFs and every emoji, in posts, comments and replies. Star a GIF to keep it in your Favourites.
- Game news: Valve's updates and patch notes for Counter-Strike 2 and Deadlock, on Home, on their own page, and with a page for each update.
- Say what your post is about: tag it with a news update, and it shows on that update's page.
- Home has a side column with the latest reviews, the latest lists and new members.
- Upload a banner or profile picture straight from your device. Pictures are kept at full quality, and a picture you paste a link to is saved with us, so it no longer disappears when the link expires.
Changed
- Your profile's Feed is now called Posts, and posts there look and work exactly as they do on Home.
- Posts open in a popup with the comments first. Sort comments by Top or Recent.
- Comments can be liked, replied to, reposted and quoted. Long threads fold after the first reply, with Show replies.
- Like, comment and repost are a little larger and light up when you hover. Counts roll to their new number, and nothing shifts when the first like lands.
- Posts no longer say "posted". Reviews say "reviewed", and lists "published a list".
- Counters only show once there's something to count. No more "0".
- Privacy, Terms and the Changelog now sit at the bottom of Home's side column. As you scroll, the column moves up so Latest lists stays in view.
- Patch notes moved to the Changelog. Old links still work.
- Tagging a game opens a small picker instead of taking over the whole post box.
- The side column's hearts show what you've already liked.
Fixed
- A banner whose link has expired shows the plain banner instead of a broken image.
- Selecting text in a popup and letting go outside it no longer closes the popup.
- Country flags show up on Windows.
- The footer sits centred under narrow pages.
Behind the scenes
- Pictures are shown as sized copies made for your screen, so pages load faster and use less data, while the original you uploaded is kept untouched.
- Game news comes straight from Valve's own posts on Steam and stays up to date by itself.
