Profiles, posts, feeds, followers, and friends
New
- Profiles now live at
tick-rate.com/yourhandle. Your own profile is also where you edit it, and old/u/and/melinks still get you where you need to go. - Profiles now have a feed for reviews, posts, lists and list updates. Pin a post, review or list to Activity, alongside recent interactions with other users.
- Write posts from almost anywhere on tick-rate. Add a game, mark spoilers, turn a post into a Diary event, or mention users with
@theirhandle. - Follow users and find mutual friends. A new notification bell keeps track of follows, likes, comments, replies, mentions and activity in conversations you've joined.
- Like and comment on reviews, posts and lists. Reply to comments, like comments, and see who liked something.
- Reviews, lists and Diary entries now have proper pages of their own, with the same conversations and engagement wherever you open them.
- Diary now brings together your existing entries and new game-event posts. Log when you Started, Finished, Shelved or Returned to a game, ranked up, earned an achievement, or just want to reflect.
- Choose which games from your Steam library appear publicly on your profile.
- Choose the cover shown for a favourite game.
- Game screenshots now open in a gallery instead of sending you away from tick-rate.
- Report content that needs a look.
- Chord diagrams around your profile picture... wow. They map the kinds of games you actually play and how those tastes overlap. More to come. In the meantime: https://circos.ca/
- Patch notes now live on tick-rate too, with conversations underneath them.
Changed
- Favourites have moved into the profile ledger, with Friends below them. Activity and Feed now lead the main column.
- Reviews have been rebuilt around the review itself: author, game, release year, rating, words and conversation. Ratings now use consistent full and half stars everywhere.
- Reviews can be sorted by newest, highest or lowest rating, most likes or most comments, and filtered to an exact star rating.
- Lists now open into a full list page where they can be viewed, edited and discussed.
- When a list changes, choose whether that save appears in the feed. Additions and removals can be shown as changes without moving the original list from the date it was published.
- Starting a review, list entry or Diary event from a game page preselects that game.
- The Games count and Games tab now reflect the distinct games you actually show through your public profile activity and selected Steam games.
- Profile actions, navigation and editing now stay with you across the Games, Reviews, Diary, Lists and Friends tabs.
- Empty profile sections stay out of the way until there is something to show.
Fixed
- Hiding a list update from the feed no longer removes or unpins the list.
- Favourite cover choices survive later edits and older favourite saves.
- Game pages show reviews and lists correctly again.
- Long reviews, posts, comments and uninterrupted text no longer break their layouts.
- Reviews load consistently across time zones.
- Half-star ratings display correctly across review cards, game pages and full reviews.
- Clearing a profile picture or banner also clears its old crop, so the default actually comes back.
- Friend avatars now use the user's real profile image and fallback correctly when there isn't one.
- Empty Activity no longer leaves a blank gap above the Feed.
- Notification links, live notification delivery and nested dialog focus behave properly.
- Forms, dialogs and controls have clearer labels and keyboard behaviour for screen readers.
